A few weeks ago we went and had a hot dog and marshmallow roast in the mountains. Sadly, it has been the only one of this summer. We wanted to go more, but it was a busy summer. Maybe next year. This one took place up Hobble Creek Canyon. Beautiful canyon. These fire pits were 11 miles up. I can't remember the name of the site right now.
Emilie kept wanting to raid the boys plates.

Here is a series of pictures of Nicholas enjoying his 'smore. He was just walking around for a few minutes in his own world enjoying it.

At the beginning of the night Emilie's socks started out as white...as you can see they did not stay white. She was crawling all over the place...days after this she learned to walk.

Since we figured that there would be no returning those socks to their original whiteness, we had a little fun and burned them instead. There is a video at the end of this post of the burning of the socks.
Joel and Shay preparing for the burnage.

Joel was the pyro.

These are out of order, but this was Emilie having fun with a cup of water.
Looking to see if I am paying attention to what she is doing.

Having a grand time playing in her little mess.

Wanting to actually drink the water.

Here is Julianna with the three little kiddos. It is very difficult to get three children to look at the camera and sit still all at the same time. This is the best we could get.

And the video of the socks burning.

Love the flame resistant children's clothing!! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!
I'm glad those chocolate colored socks didn't end up on some little guy's s'more :)
Don't you love camping with the kids! They just find so much enjoyment in the outdoors...although it can be hard on moms!
