Trip to Colorado, Part 2

With Monday came Family Home Evening and with that came singing. The two boys were there to help Grandma play the piano.

Grandma doing a lesson on night and day. Fun flannel board activity. The boys loved it and Emilie, who insisted on wearing her bib, loved carrying all the pieces around when the boys weren't looking.
Closing hymn and William got the idea to use Grandma's little bench instead.
Then he realized that he couldn't reach or see very well and wasn't very happy about that.
Tuesday we went to the Littleton Historical Museum.
Papa and Emilie looking at the roosters and chickens.
Nicholas and William loved these giant metal sunflowers. I think one of the boys wanted to pick one of them and take it with them.
Grandma coaxing the boys to come near the cow.
The boys loved the windmill with the water pump at the bottom. They wanted it to work, but it didn't.
Trying to find some ducks on the pond. There weren't very many out swimming that day, they were all kind of hiding.
The boys spotted a playground across the street. Here they are longing to be on the other side of the fence. There were all kinds of kids having fun over there.
Checking out the ant hills with Grandma Barker and William's Grandma Daynes.
There is a little kitchen set up inside for the kids to play with and of course Nicholas was there in a heartbeat. He had that kitchen running smoothly in no time.
I had to add this picture just because I thought it was funny that my mom and I are standing the exact same. Must be a genetic thing. This is also by where the crazy bees attacked us. We didn't get pictures and it's probably a good thing. There was this bee that kept flying into my hair and I couldn't get it out. My mom was trying to find it, but couldn't, but I could still hear it buzzing. It was scary because I didn't want to get stung. It flew in 3 or 4 times. I was dancing and screaming all around. Kerstin and her in-laws were watching from a distance and thought it was quite the show. I was bent over shaking my hair all around to get the crazy bee out. A few minutes later, Kerstin got stung by one on her temple. When she went to get ice she found out that the beehive keeper had told the workers at the front of the museum to warn everyone that the bees were angry. We didn't get that warning.
For Nicholas' bed he got to sleep in a sleeping bag with a sleeping pad under it. Of course, the boys got creative and started using the pads as boats. They were having a grand time.
Chilling on the couch together.
A new hat.
Nicholas and William olympics. This happened while I was getting ready for the day.
A pose worth a perfect 10.
Emilie LOVES to be outside. Here she is just longing to be out in the backyard. She was also enjoying to lick the screen door.
Sorry Kerstin had to add this one. We were getting the kids ready to go swimming one morning....needless to say, the swim diaper was not where it was supposed to be.
The boys got to help Grandma get her garden ready for a garden party she was having for Enrichment. They loved being able to pick the weeds.
Papa was painting the archway on the side of the house and they thought that was fun to watch too. Sorry these ones are a little dark.
Emilie exploring, probably holding up some kind of bug.
Emilie thought it might be fun to go help Papa.
Mom didn't think that was such a great idea.
Emilie's first haircut.
Not so excited about it.
But she enjoyed feeding me her golden grahams while Grandma snipped away as quickly as possible.
We were sad to see the fun come to an end, but you always have to go back to reality. We had a great time and can't wait until we can do it again!

Here is a video or we like to call it evidence. It was William's turn to pull Nicholas on the "boat." He decided that he wanted to sit on it and Nicholas was not cool with that. The funny part of it was that Kerstin, who was taking the video, was trying to turn off the tv while videoing. She didn't see the actual thing happen and thought William just fell on his face. I saw the whole thing unfold from the other side of the kitchen. The video tells all. I think it's funny because you can hear both Kerstin and I gasp.
