Little Piggies

As I said in my last post, Emilie's hair is now long enough to put two piggy tails in. So the day that I did it for the first time I think I took at least 31 pictures. I just couldn't get enough. So here are several of the 31.

Since I spent so much time getting Emilie's piggy's in, Nicholas thought he needed to do his hair too and spent a lot of time in the bathroom doing so. If you look very carefully you can see it's standing up just a little more than normal...lol. Most of the water made it on his shirt. What a cute kid.

First Time Swinging

A few weeks I took Nicholas and Emilie to the park and Emilie got to swing for the first time. When we would put her in her swing her at home she would always get so excited and when it would start to move she would get this huge grin on her face. So we knew she would love the swings at the park. She was a little weary of them, but all in all she loved the experience. Her little hand would shake every time she moved forward. It was fun to watch. I had to add all of these pictures...not a one could I leave out.

What can I say...she's a little girl and it was a big swing.

For any of you that know me well and know that I'm a germ-a-phob, the front of the swing was disgusting to me. I seriously was thinking about the fact that it needed a major washing and was concerned for not only Emilie's health, but my own as I pushed her. I know, I need help.

Catch Up

I'm playing catch up on putting pictures up on my blog. And this is only the beginning. All of these pictures are owns from the last bunch of pictures to come off the camera. As I was uploading these on to here, I just took MORE pictures off my camera. And there are some fun ones to share, including videos. So maybe I'll get to those later tonight or sometime in the first part of this week (after I do some work for Shay). So here we go on the last bunch....

Before I get started...I have to add that Emilie is now crawling. She is on the move. She figured it all out on Thursday of this past week. She hasn't gone long distances yet, but she will make her way across the floor gradually. I'm just waiting for her to follow me into another room. I was thinking Nicholas would love it when she started crawling so she could chase after him, but we're not to that point yet. Right now he doesn't really like that she can get to him and what he is doing. He usually asks me to put her somewhere else. We're working on helping him to understand that she is going to move now and if he doesn't want her to get something, he's going to need to move it so she can't or just be happy that she is wanting to be by him and play with him.

Oh and there are two new Nicholas quotes over on the side. Silly kid.

When Emilie was born, my mom gave me two of my dresses that I wore when I was little and here Emilie is in one of them. I'm not sure if we got pictures of her in the other one...she's too big for it now (maybe not though, I might have to try putting her in it just for pictures). There is a picture at the bottom of me wearing this same dress.

She looks like she's deep in thought in this picture. I can't get past how big and blue her eyes are. I always love pictures where she's just staring straight into the camera.

I had to include this not only because of her funny face, but to me it looks a little like she is standing up. Just made me chuckle.

Emilie's eight month pictures. I didn't include the far away shot for comparison with the rest. This has been a little more difficult with Emilie because the minute I sit her in the chair she leans forward. It seems with Nicholas that he would at least sit still for just a minute.

We took care of William one night so Kerstin and Joel could go to the temple and Nicholas and him were playing their macaroni trumpets at dinner. William came up with the idea and Nicholas followed along.

More cute bath time photos. Nicholas styling Emilie's hair. I have memories of my mom shaping our long hair while the shampoo was in it. Emilie's hair is quite long enough yet, but it's a start.

This is kind of a crazy picture to end on, but oh well. This was Nicholas right before bed one night. He was doing crazy stuff with his hands and face obviously. Shay says this is scary like the vampires on "I am Legend."

Almost There

Emilie is almost crawling. She was so close tonight. She actually moved her arm and kind of scooted a knee, but then fell flat. Nicholas and I were having fun encouraging her to come to us. Nicholas was even showing her how to crawl. It was really fun. She's just in her diaper because I noticed while she was taking a bath that she was being able to get up on her knees better. Her clothes seem to get in the way of getting up on her knees. I did assist her in getting up on her knees for this photo, but she really can do it herself too.

Do you think she had success with the biter biscuit this time? (See previous post) It was everywhere, hence the reason she got a bath tonight. Good thing it all comes off with water.

More pictures to come soon. I just took them all of the camera tonight, now I just have to sort through all of them (there was one day I took 55 pictures, a little excessive maybe) and pick out the very cutest ones.

I thought I would also direct you over the side bar where there are some new cute Nicholas quotes. He is so funny!! I'll have to put a video up of him saying "whatever."

Our Easter Weekend

Here are our cute pictures from Easter weekend. It was a great weekend, filled with a lot of candy and the spirit of Easter. We had wonderful talks given in church on Sunday (including one given by Shay). One of my favorites though was singing the hymn "Christ the Lord is Risen Today," at the end of our Sacrament meeting. What a beautiful message this hymn has and gives hope to all of us. Enjoy the pictures of our cute kiddos...

Nicholas and Emilie in the "Easter" clothes. Nicholas actually just got a tie for the first time and Emilie has worn the dress the last two weeks, but it's just so cute, we have to get the most use out of it we can. As you can tell, we could not get both of them to look at the camera at the same time. Emilie much prefers to look at her big brother.

So we decided that we would love it if the Easter Bunny could come every day. Here is why...He came on Saturday to our house. So on Friday evening, we dyed easter eggs and then got Nicholas ready for bed.(By the way, Nicholas was just so excited while decorating the egg and that the Easter bunny was coming, he had been waiting ALL week long and it was finally here.) Right before Nicholas went to bed we were reading scriptures out of his scripture reader. Shay was reading and I was watching Nicholas. He was looking around the room. The whole time you could tell his mind was not on what Shay was reading. Mid-way through he says to us: "How do you think the Easter Bunny gets into our house?" Right after scriptures, he sat there for a minute and then said, "Well, I guess I better go to bed so the Easter Bunny can come." And off he went, walked to his room and only came out once because I didn't put the pennies by his door that we put there every night before bed. If only it was that easy every night.
